Movement and journey
I left a life of burnout and chronic health issues and came to the mountains. I fell in love with movement, nature, snowboarding, motorcycles, and tapping into a primal sense of freedom and play – but my health struggles followed me, and doctors couldn’t clearly treat or explain them. I turned to supplements and alternative approaches but the guilt, shame, expenses, and dead ends piled up as my IBS, gallstones, malabsorption, nerve issues, and anxiety got worse, and eventually I stopped trying to fix my body and emotions and became curious about them instead – what I actually experienced, what I wanted outside of everyone’s expectations, and an evolving question of what would get me there. Just like snowboarding, the shift from goals to experiments opened an opportunity for self discovery, self advocacy, and new sense of potential that helped me heal and continues to give me a life of adventure and play. That process – questioning, experimenting, and building something specific to your body, your values, and where you actually want to go – is what I believe is missing in modern health and fitness culture. Instead of another program or fix, I found what the fundamentals for my health looked like, and how to put them together piece by piece to give me a life of play and adventure. This process is what I want to share with you.
